NORTH SARDINIA: A CORNER OF MEDITERRANEAN PARADISE

Lion holiday sardinia - isola di Sardegna

Northern Sardinia is a land of extraordinary beauty, a natural treasure chest that holds some of the Mediterranean's most spectacular coastlines. This area is renowned for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and varied landscapes that range from green hills to wind-sculpted granite rocks. Visitors to the north of the island also have the opportunity to explore picturesque villages, archaeological sites and a local culture that celebrates ancient traditions and authentic gastronomy.

STINTINO: THE PEARL OF NORTHERN SARDINIA

Among the wonders of northern Sardinia, Stintino stands out as one of the most enchanting and coveted locations for visitors. This small fishing village, located at the extreme north-western tip of the island, is famous for its spectacular beaches and the charm of its old village. Stintino is a perfect destination for those seeking quiet, unspoilt nature and heavenly waters.

Dream beaches

  1. La Pelosa: Sardinia's most iconic beach and one of the most beautiful in Europe. La Pelosa is known for its fine, white sand, lapped by an incredibly transparent sea, with hues ranging from turquoise to blue. Its shallow, calm waters make it perfect for families and those who like to relax in a unique natural setting. From the beach, there is a breathtaking view of the Pelosa islet, where the ancient Aragonese tower is located. From May to September, the entrance to the beach is restricted with a reservation fee. All details can be found on the official website https://spiaggialapelosa.it/la-pelosa/.

  2. La Pelosetta: Located next to La Pelosa, it is a smaller but equally fascinating beach. From here, it is possible to swim to Isola Piana and observe the Aragonese tower up close. La Pelosetta is particularly popular for its calm, crystal-clear waters.

  3. Le Tonnare: This beach, close to Stintino's old tonnara (tuna fishery), is perfect for those seeking a picturesque and uncrowded location. The presence of rocks and reefs makes the sea deep blue, and the area is also excellent for activities such as diving.

  4. Le Saline: A long stretch of light-coloured sand mixed with polished pebbles, located a short distance from the centre of Stintino. Le Saline beach offers a quiet and less crowded environment than Pelosa. Its clear waters and sloping seabed are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. There are also several ‘Pet Friendly’ establishments on Le Saline beach.

  5. Pazzona: This beach is ideal for those who love natural and un-touristy landscapes. Pazzona beach, a continuation of Le Saline beach, is characterised by light-coloured sand interspersed with small pebbles and lapped by a clear, shallow sea. Being less well known, it offers a unique peace and a perfect setting for days of pure relaxation immersed in the beauty of Sardinia.

  6. Ezzi Mannu: this is a long beach of white sand and small pebbles, bathed by transparent waters that change from turquoise to emerald. Less crowded than La Pelosa, it is perfect for those seeking quietness and an authentic landscape surrounded by wild, unspoilt nature.

With an area of about 10 hectares, this uninhabited island is characterised by rocky landscapes, wild vegetation and crystal-clear waters surrounding it. It is a perfect place for those who love nature and tranquillity, away from the crowds. Although the island is not accessible for official tourist excursions, it can be admired up close by boat or during a swim in its transparent waters, making it an ideal destination for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. Its strategic location also offers breathtaking views of the Stintino coastline and the Gulf of Asinara.
